MICHAEL GRANT VS ANTHONY WILLIS HEADLINES FIGHT CARD AT STRATOSPHERE CASINO HOTEL AND TOWER IN LAS VEGAS, NV., ON JUNE 1

May 21, 2002 - Square Ring, Inc., will present a sensational fight card on Saturday, June 1, 2002, in the Outdoor Event Center at the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower, located at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip at 2000 South Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will be one in the "Roy Jones Jr. Presents" series, and televised on the Madison Square Garden Network, the Sunshine Network, ACSN, and Comcast SportsNet on tape delay.

MAIN EVENT - 10 ROUNDS, HEAVYWEIGHTS MICHAEL GRANT VS ANTHONY WILLIS 33-2, 24 KOs, Norristown, Pa. 19-10-1, 13 KOs, St. Louis, Mo. The main event will feature former heavyweight world title challenger Michael Grant, 33-2, with 24 knockouts, of Norristown, Pa., in a scheduled ten-round fight against Anthony Willis, 19-10-1, with 13 knockouts, of St. Louis, Mo. Grant has now won two fights in a row after two straight losses and a series of injuries - in his world title challenge against Lennox Lewis, his knee was injured and had to be surgically reconstructed; while training for a January, 2001 fight, he tore a muscle and underwent emergency surgery for blood clots in his arm and back; in his fight against Jameel McCline, his ankle was broken. Michael said, "I'm still destined for the heavyweight championship. There will be a story to tell when I'm heavyweight champion. But right now, I'm just traveling through the storms, the valley and the deserts on that journey. It's all about being the best that I can be." Michael has had impressive wins against several heavyweight contenders, including Andrew Golota, Lou Savarese, Obed Sullivan, David Izon, and Jorge Gonzalez. A professional veteran of nearly twelve years, Anthony Willis is an offensive-minded southpaw. He is 2-0-1 in his last three fights, and experienced against very good opposition - he has fought former heavyweight world champions Larry Holmes and Vitali Klitschko, and cruiserweight world champion Adolpho Washington.

CO-FEATURE - 10 ROUNDS, LIGHTWEIGHTS LEMUEL NELSON VS MICHAEL DAVIS 23-5-1, 12 KOs, Pensacola, Fl. 21-9, 9 KOs, Indianapolis, In.

6 ROUNDS, CRUISERWEIGHTS MICHAEL BENNETT VS CHRIS HAIRSTON 8-2, 7 KOs, Chicago, Il. 3-4, Charlotte, N.C.
