HARRISON VS SANTIAGO PLUS ARTHUR VS LIMOND

Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 5 PM ET/PT
From Braehead Arena, Glasgow, Scotland

NEW YORK, NY (June 4, 2002) - SHOWTIME's "ShoBox: The New Generation," returns to Europe on Saturday, June 8, at 5 p.m. ET/PT with a championship doubleheader from Braehead Arena, Glasgow, Scotland. In the main event, British Commonwealth Featherweight Champion/World Boxing Organization (WBO) No. 8 contender Scott Harrison will take on NABO featherweight champion/WBO No. 10 contender Victor Santiago for the interim WBO featherweight championship. The winner of the 12-round contest will have an opportunity to challenge current WBO Featherweight Champion Juan Pablo Chacon upon his return from an injury.

In the co-feature of the Frank Warren-promoted card, International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental Super Featherweight Champion Alex Arthur will make his "ShoBox" debut when he takes on unbeaten Willie Limond for the vacant British super featherweight title. The telecast is the 19th in a series of "ShoBox" telecasts.

Harrison (16-1-1, 8 KOs), of Glasgow, Scotland, won the British Commonwealth featherweight title on Jan. 24, 2000, by registering a 12-round decision over Patrick Mullings. Harrison captured his first pro title, the International Boxing Organization (IBO) International featherweight crown, with a 12-round decision over Smith Odom on July 10, 1999. The once-beaten Scot has won his past 13 fights and made five consecutive defenses of his British title. In his last bout, Harrison defended his title for the fifth time by TKO when he stopped Tony Wehbee in the third round on March 11, 2002, in Glasgow.

Santiago (16-1-1, 12 KOs), of Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, captured the NABO and Puerto Rican featherweight titles by scoring a first-round TKO over Wilfredo Vargas on July 14, 2001, in Yauco, Puerto Rico. Santiago, who started his career 3-1-1, has won 13 consecutive bouts, including nine by knockout. The hard-hitting featherweight has fought all but three of his contests in Puerto Rico since turning pro at age 20 in 1997. In his most recent fight, Santiago registered a fourth-round KO over Jose Garcia on Jan. 18, 2002, in Raleigh, N.C.

Arthur (10-0, 8 KOs), of Edinburgh, Scotland, captured the IBF Intercontinental super featherweight title on March 11, 2002, with a 10th-round TKO over Dariusz Snarski in Glasgow. The victory marked the first time Arthur had been extended past the fourth round. Campaigning solely out of the United Kingdom, the unbeaten champion has knocked out seven of his 10 opponents within three rounds. Arthur turned pro at age 22 by scoring a first-round TKO over Richmond Asante on Nov. 25, 2000, in Manchester, England.

Limond (16-0, 4 KOs), of Glasgow, Scotland, has fought 15 of 16 bouts in his hometown since turning pro in 1999. The four-year veteran entered the professional ranks at age 20 on Nov. 12, 1999, by scoring a first-round TKO over Lenny Hodgkins. After opening his career with four knockouts in five bouts, the defensive specialist has recorded 11 consecutive wins by decision. In his last contest on March 11, 2002, Limond registered a six-round decision over David Hinds in Glasgow.

"ShoBox: The New Generation" features up-and-coming prospects determined to make a mark and eventually fight for a chance at a world title. The best of the new generation of hungry, young boxers will have an opportunity to showcase their talent and heart as they battle each other in competitive fights in front of an international television audience. "ShoBox: The New Generation" is pure, basic boxing, reminiscent of the golden days of the sport.

SHOWTIME televises "ShoBox: The New Generation" at 5 p.m. ET/PT on Saturdays approximately every other week. The telecast repeats the next day at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME EXTREME and the following Saturday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME TOO.

Nick Charles of "ShoBox: The New Generation" will call the action from ringside, with Steve Farhood serving as expert analyst. The executive producers of the telecast are Jay Larkin and Gordon Hall, with Richard Gaughan producing.
