CLOTTEY

SANTIAGO
(INSIDE BOXING)
(November 13) - Brother acts are not a rarity in boxing. There have been the brothers Spinks - Michael and Leon - Buddy and Max Baer, and most recently the Klitshcko brothers (Vitaly and Wladimir). But it is unusual for two brothers to be fighting on the same card, and that will happen on Friday night, November 21, when Emmanuel Clottey, making his first ring appearance since a sensational knockout victory over Olympic gold medalist Muhammed Abdullaev, will headline "Broadway Boxing" presented by DiBella Entertainment at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, right in the heart of New York City. His younger brother Joshua Clottey will appear on the same card.

(INSIDE BOXING)
TOKYO, JAPAN (November 13) - Ex-Japanese national 130-pound champ Koji Arisawa (30-2-2, 22 KOs), 132.25, decked his tune-up go prior to his attempt to regain his belt from WBC #9 ranked champ Nobuhito Honmo next January, as he impressively outjabbed and outpunched #4 ranked lightweight Hideki Shudo (19-7-1, 12 KOs), 131.75, swept all rounds and finally dropped him with a flurry of punches to prompt the referee’s intervention at 2:40 of the fifth round on Thursday night in Tokyo, Japan.

THE SHOWDOWN
(INSIDE BOXING)
WORCESTER, Mass. (November 11, 2003) - Pro boxing returns November 28 to Worcester (MA) with "Return of Friday Night Fights: The Showdown Part 2," promoted by Pendarvis Boxing Promotions, in association with the Dew Drop Boxing Club, at The Palladium.

Former IBU World and 2-time NABF champion "Sucra" Ray Oliveria (45-9-2, 231 KOs) headlines the card against TBA in the 10-round main event. In the co-feature, world middleweight champion Leititia "Baby Girl" Robinson (9-0, 8 KOs), of Chicago, faces No. 6 rated Yvonne Reis (3-1-1), of Ft. Lauderdale, in a six-round, non-title fight.
OHSHIMA DRAWS WITH FURUKAWA
(INSIDE BOXING)
TOKYO, JAPAN (November 10) - Highly expected Hironari Ohshima (19-4-1, 13 KOs), 140, was surprisingly held to a split draw (99-96 for him, 96-97 and 96-96) by unheralded Kazuhiro Furukawa (8-6-1, 2 KOs), 140, over give-and-take ten heats on Monday night in Tokyo, Japan.

Ohshima previously failed to win the national light belt from Rick Yoshimura and the OPBF 140-pound title from Masakazu Satake, but still remained a prospect with his good height and long reach. But he stupidly forgot to use his left hand only to mix it up with the game and gutsy rival in the close quarter, and struggled to earn a drawn verdict.

Undercard: Kazuya Sagae (5-2-1, 3 KOs), 126, also fought to a majority draw with Kentaro Asano (5-3-3), 125.5, over six. Four bouts ended in a draw out of eleven fights this day. Promoter: Cheyenne Yamamoto Promotions. [End]
