OLIVEIRA HEADLINES THE SHOWDOWN:
PART 2 NOV. 28 IN WORCESTER

WORCESTER, Mass. (November 11, 2003) - Pro boxing returns November 28 to Worcester (MA) with "Return of Friday Night Fights: The Showdown Part 2," promoted by Pendarvis Boxing Promotions, in association with the Dew Drop Boxing Club, at The Palladium.

Former IBU World and 2-time NABF champion "Sucra" Ray Oliveria (45-9-2, 231 KOs) headlines the card against TBA in the 10-round main event. In the co-feature, world middleweight champion Leititia "Baby Girl" Robinson (9-0, 8 KOs), of Chicago, faces No. 6 rated Yvonne Reis (3-1-1), of Ft. Lauderdale, in a six-round, non-title fight.

"This is the first time I've promoted a show in Worcester in more than 10 years," promoter Doug Pendarvis said. "Worcester is a great fight town and we're looking at it as a possible site for a world title fight between Laila Ali and Leatitia Robinson, assuming she gets past Yvonne Reis. We're testing the waters in Worcester. If the fans like Leatitia we'd like to bring her world title fight there against Ali.

"We're also going to honor the new WBA welterweight champion, Jose Antonio Rivera, of Worcester. This show is dedicated to the memory of boxer Jamar Carter, who died last month in a New Jersey house fighter. We've asked Jose to present a special plaque to Jamar's son. Fans will also have an opportunity to sign an enlarged photo of Jamar, located near the entrance area, that will be given to his family."

Super middleweights Derrick Graham (12-7-1, 4 KOs), of Newark (NJ), and Dave "The Hamilton (15-11-1, 5 KOs), of Brockton (MA), square off in a six round match. Mass featherweight champion Elio "The Destroyer" Rodriguez (8-3, 2 KOs) takes on Jose Abel Ayala (7-3, 1 KO), in a six-round non-title match.

Also on the undercard in a four-round bout is Lawrence featherweight Denise "Mighty" Moses (2-0, 2 KOs) versus Anita Parks (0-1), of Philadelphia, as well as in separate four-round matches Worcester cruiserweights Roy "House of" Payne (15-12-4, 6 KOs) vs. TBA and John "House of Rain" Rainwater (9-9, 3 KOs), former Mass. Cruiserweight Champion, vs. Willis Lockett (6-1-3, 1 KO), of Maryland. Lawrence junior middleweight Alex Infante (3-1) is scheduled to fight Bilai Burns (0-4), of Philadelphia, in a four-rounder.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. by the first bout. Tickets are priced at $50.00 VIP ringside, $30.00 reserved and $20.00 general admission. Call Pendarvis Boxing Promotions (617.825.3283) to order tickets or for more information.
