The Resurrection first opened in 1924 as a church, but was eventually turned into a boxing gym where Oscar De La Hoya trained as a kid in the early 1980′s. The gym became highly-recognizable when it was used for the opening scene in the movie ROCKY. The first scene of the movie began with a painting of Jesus overlooking a dark, dirty boxing ring where Rocky Balboa battled Spider Rico. Later, in the mid-1990′s, it was purchased and renovated by the “Golden Boy,” who transformed it into the Oscar De La Hoya Youth Center as a way of helping keep inner-city kids off the streets and out of gangs. This tee is constructed of a premium 50% cotton and 50% polyester blend that provides championship performance, style and fashion. Each design has a tailored fit for incredible comfort and wear.
