International Boxing Club TITLE Legacy Tee
In the late nineteen forties and early fifties the mob had a big hand in boxing and controlled a significant number of the champions and championship fights at that time. The owner of the Madison Square Garden, James Norris, created an "unofficial" partnership with the mobster, Frankie Carbo and together they formed the International Boxing Club of New York, Inc. Est. 1949. THE I.B.C. was basically “a front” to control the best fighters of the era (including; Jake LaMotta, Joe Louis and countless others.) They had a piece of almost EVERY fighter during that time and played a big hand in boxing for a brief, but bold period in sports history. 60% combed ring-spun cotton, 40% polyester.
